About Us

Curbside Inc. has managed hazardous waste generated by households and small businesses since our founding in 1995 when we pioneered the collection of household hazardous waste directly from homes.

Hundreds of thousands of residents have participated in public agency programs that have contracted Curbside to collect their hazardous waste, most opting for at-home collection. Some residents have preferred to travel to special collection events or permanent collection centers managed by Curbside. Among the many thousands of people served by various public collection programs are seniors, disabled persons and individuals who could not physically manage their waste. Curbside has provided in-home assistance for these individuals.

Small businesses who did not know where to turn for help with small quantities of hazardous waste have taken advantage of Curbside’s targeted pricing and assistance. There is no amount of waste (non-hazardous or hazardous) too small for Curbside to cost effectively collect.

When communities need assistance with natural disasters, they have turned to Curbside. From forest fires in the Rocky Mountains to landslides in costal communities, Curbside has been there to remove hazardous chemicals from the damaged and about to be damaged homes.

We have removed hazardous waste from hundreds of homes about to be demolished as part of a large international airport.

For more than 15 years, Curbside has created virtually every type of program necessary to collect all but the ordinary household waste that can legally go to a sanitary landfill.

Curbside has developed a Sharps collection program which includes not only mail back but home collection of sharps as well.  Working with public agencies, Curbside designed and placed drop-boxes so that the public can drop off their sharps in virtually any rigid, sealed container.

The collection of non-controlled home generated pharmaceutical waste has been problematic. Until Curbside developed a program to destroy the waste on site.  Working with pharmacy associations and public agencies residents now have effective, convenient locations to drop off their old medicines.

Curbside developed stand alone household battery and lamp collection programs with unique collection units.  These programs have allowed public agencies and businesses to accept these items from the public and be assured that they will be fully recycled, not landfilled.

We are flexible.  We work outside of the box because one box does not fit all.  When public agencies and businesses approach us, we modify or create anew a program that meets their needs and do it cost effectively.

Curbside offers our potential customers many waste collection opportunities but we never lose sight of the fact that collection is not the end of our waste management responsibilities.  Most of the waste (by weight) collected by Curbside in our multitude of programs is reused or recycled.  Our efforts in this area are unique in the industry and allow our customers to tell their residents or customers they are helping to protect the environment.

Curbside's "green" initiative is just getting started, we are exploring methods to recycle even more of what we collect.
