Sharps - Door-to-Door Collection

One of three options for the collection of sharps, residents can call Curbside's Call Center and request the collection of sharps at their home.  This program can be implemented as a stand alone by public agencies or as part of a comprehensive Door-to-Door HHW collection program.

This is a cost effective approach which allows the resident to provide large quantities in rigid, sealed containers.  The typical program includes the collection of up to the equivalent of two gallons at one time.  Allowing residents to use their own containers saves you money.  No need to purchase and provide purpose made sharps containers.  No need to inconvenience residents who find that use of containers already on hand makes disposal simple.

Consider implementing one or more programs to manage sharps.  Offering more options means higher compliance.  Consider allowing for the collection of non-controlled pharmaceuticals at the same time.

This program is not available every where.  In areas where it is not, consider using the mail-back program
